Welcome To Our Garden

The ball is rolling...

I just rescheduled our appointment at the Jones Institute. We'll be going to our first appt/consultation on March 12 at 10 am. I'm just so anxious to get this whole process going. It may be a long road ahead of us.....but I'm ready NOW.

If the rest of facility is as open and caring as the receptionist was then hopefully that part will go smoothly. She confirmed all my info and asked my husbands name. When I told her I wasn't married she simply said ok and asked what this appt was for. I told her an IUI consult for same sex couple. She then asked my partners name and said she looked forward to seeing both of us in March. So far so good.

Woowhooo! Appt made....step 1 complete.

Anyone know what I should expect during this first visit?

Congrats on starting the journey! i'm like you (and most people probably), once we decided we were ready, we wanted the baby immediately. our daughter is now 13.5 months old and i can hardly believe it! she's absolutely incredible and would have been worth waiting a life time for. we will venture down the path again starting this fall.

good luck to you guys!

Found your blog from Holly and Lois'. Good luck on your journey! Boy, you sound so organized. Enjoy it while you can. Once preggo, my brain went south.

Can't wait to hear you are baking a baby. I might have missed it in your writings, but how soon might you have your first attempt?

My daughter is 9 months old. My husband and I are now trying for number 2. Number 1 just happened without much effort. Now that we are 'trying', I'm schooling myself on ovulation and such. You are so right! Who knew about all this stuff?!!!

Lisa,

The appt in March is our "get everything straight..figure out what we're doing" appt. So hopefully it wont be long after that.

Yahoo! That's not far away at all. Start taking those vitamins if you haven't already. :-)

Congrats on making the first step. Before we went to IVF I just remember feeling we really owned and controlled the process. The doctor basically did the IUI and that was about it. So be prepared to ask the tough questions and direct this process yourself with some help from your doctor.

You might want to compile a list of questions for the doctor in case they don't offer out too much info.
I'm excited that you girls are beginning the journey!!
