13 days to go!

The swimmers have been released and sent on their mission!
FIND THAT EGG!!

I wish I could say I had an ouchless day and everything went smoothly yesterday but I'd be lying. It hurt! Apparently, according the the 12 year old doc (of course she really wasn't but she certainly looked it. M said she probably wasn't even old enough to drink), my cervix was closed...more so than normal. ??? So needless to say, she had a bit of time getting the swimmers where they needed to be. It didn't really take a long time but it certainly wasn't comfortable and I had some major cramps afterwards. I woke up this morning feeling like I had been kicked in the gut. I keep telling myself that was because all those ripe follies decided to kick their eggs out all at once! HA! I guess we'll know in 13 days, huh?

Help me out and be honest. A closed cervix at insemination time isn't a good thing is it? I was too upset to ask Doogie Howser yesterday before we left.

I guess I should stop stressing. There's nothing I can do about it now.

i'm not sure about the closed cervix thing but it couldn't have been too closed if they were eventually able to do the iui, right?

here is more dust for you! +*+*+*+*+*+*+*+

Sending lots of baby dust your way!!!
I agree with Liz...if she was able to get the catheter in (even if it wasn't comfortable) that's what counts. Fingers crossed!!

Really, I would not worry - my doctor has said my cervix was "closed" when an insemination was uncomfortable, but then moved the speculum and realized it was his position, not my cervix. This has happened a couple of times. Sometimes it's just in a weird place and they have to move things around. I have also done an insemination post-ovulation, and they were not able to "get in". Sorry for the TMI, but you asked!

my friend is having her baby any second and her cervix was closed during her procedure--they also had to make it go through with a bit of pain.... I just saw her yesterday, and she's as big as a house. it's a boy!

I am SO hoping for you both...!!! I have a good feeling!

Oh, and get this-- the secret word I have to type is "tuffest"-- toughest--a good adjective for you. You're a tough chick-- you'll get what you want and deserve, I know it!

We have heard an alomst closed cervix is a good thing. Ali's cervix has always been wide open...and that hasn't gotten us far. I was reading the "The ultimate guide to pregnancy for lesbians" and the author swore it was too late to inseminate and her cervix was partially closed......she got pregnant! Prayers for you both.
