Post D&C, Consult #1

M & I just got back from our doctors appt with the RE.

Dr. O said he was disappointed to have to see us again. Not as disappointed as us but anyhow. The visit went well. He went back over our records and was impressed that we were able to get pregnant both times with no drugs. Said that was a plus. (Duh...we know that much) His plan is to run some tests on me. Chromosomal and thyroid type tests. They took 5 vials of blood and we should know those results in about 10 days or so. He is also going to check the donors info...chromosomal records and such. We're still going to switch donors but it will be nice to know if this problem was possibly caused by the donors genes or mine. Dr. O also did a scan to make sure my uterus looked ok after the d&c. Thankfully all is well in that department.

So, unless something major shows up from these blood tests we'll being making a road trip soon for some swimmers and trying for lucky #3 this time next month.

Here we go again.

Lets hope we both get blessings next month- a new life for you AND a new, recovered life for my chaplain friend.
Hugs!

Well I am glad they are doing tests and I hope they find that everything is fine. Here's to number 3! Third times a charm, right!

I'm so glad you're having some testing and that you're looking into your sperm donor. I found out that the first donor I used had a bit higher miscarriage rate (26 percent, still in the normal range) than other donors. I miscarried with him twice at 8 weeks.

For my recent IVF cycle I used a different donor (who I'd used before with no success), and I'm now 16 weeks pregnant... so I'm a fan of switching donors! Just make sure whoever you pick has prior pregnancies. You don't need to be lab monkey...

Best of luck to both of you in 2008. You're total troopers.

Good luck for the new year and I hope 2008 brings you many joys! :)

I'm fairly new round here, myself and my wife are ttc starting from this month but I've been lurking for a while now so it's out of the shadows for me!

It sounds like you are doing all you can right now.

I was shocked that my thyroid had never been checked and after my second m/c they check it and it was abnormal.

I was started on a small dosage of Synthroid and things seem to be alright this time around.

Thinking of both of you.
