Easter Weekend

M and I had a nice weekend. Saturday evening we took her mom and 3 nieces (ages 9 and 6) to see Horton Hears A Who. Excellent movie! I think M and I laughed (out loud!) more than the kids. We had a great time. The kids did too. :o)

Sunday we took a little road trip down to Raleigh, NC to meet up with some flickr/Ro fan friends we've been talking to for quite a while. One couple lives there and the other had just flown in for vacation from Wisconsin (leaving behind about a foot of snow!). We had a blast! It was like meeting old friends (even tho it was our first "in person" meet).

Here's the gang!

And because it's spring and I love flowers, here's one of my latest blooms.

Isn't it beautiful?

And just in time to bring us some much needed luck.

Today in CD1.

Guess what?! Guess what!?

We're NOT skipping next month! Wooowhooo! (Not that she reads this...but thank you Mom!)

Here's how all this has come about. My mom and I were talking the other day and she was telling me how my dad does NOT want to do this vow renewal/wedding thing. He had basically said she would be standing up there alone. LOL Well, knowing my dad the way I do, I knew that sooner or later he would give in and be happy about it but I decided to put a little extra pressure on him. (That's what daughters do, right?) So, I told mom to tell him that M and I were putting off next months insemination so that we could be there for the wedding without fear of popping a baby out in the church during the vows.....so he HAD to do it. :o) (M and I, up until that point, had decided not to tell them about the delayed plans) That did the trick! My mom then went on to tell me that she had been wondering if it wouldn't be better to have the ceremony in November instead of December anyhow. She was concerned about the possibility of bad weather in December and it being so close to Christmas. She didn't want people to have to travel in snow or miss out because of it and so that people wouldn't be all stressed out and rushing because of Christmas the next week.

So, per mom and dads orders, we are trying next month.

Holy cow! I love it when a plan comes together. LOL Now if the WHOLE plan would just come together.

And get this. IF all goes according to plan, which for us it never does, but IF it does. We will be trying again around our birthdays (April 6 and 8) and that would put the test time around the 20-22. Guess where we will be the 18-20. Kentucky! With my parents! Wouldn't that be something!!? To get a BFP while home with the folks!! One can hope. And pray.

I've got more good news. I just love being able to post something positive for a change.

I found my mom a wedding dress! I'm not sure who's more excited...her or me! With her and I being 500 miles apart, shopping for a dress together wasn't going to happen. So she asked me to try and find her one on ebay. Mom is a little on the "hefty" side, so I knew that would be a task. But I did it! I found several and emailed her the pics. She narrowed it down to 2 and finally to one. I watched the auction for 2 days. 4 different people were bidding on it. The auction was due to end at midnight last night. I placed a bid. Went to bed. Set the clock for 1150. Got up and watched the price go up and up but I was still the highest bidder. The clock struck midnight and mom was the proud new owner of a $900 wedding dress for a mere $135! Yippee!! It's beautiful. Mom's a little concerned it might be a tad small but she says shes got 7-8 months to whip herself into shape. :o)

Here's a couple of pics of the previous owner wearing it. I think it's beautiful.

Bring on the dress!

Bring on the BFP!

Bring on the ceremony!

Bring on the New Years Eve baby!

We're ready!

Delayed....

again.

So, everyone knows M and I are sitting out this month because we decided that me going alone just wouldn't work for us but it looks like we're gonna sit out another one. Or two.

Let me explain.

My mom and dads 50th wedding anniversary is December 19 and mom wants to do the wedding thing all over again. They didn't really have a wedding. It was just them and the preacher. She didn't even have a wedding dress. Just an old skirt and blouse. She was just 18 and dad 21. So she's asked me to help her and I'm so excited! She wants dad in a tux and for her to finally be able to wear that beautiful wedding dress she's always dreamed of. So we've got some planning to do.

How does this effect M and I and our baby making?

Well, since we skipped this month.....my next cycle should begin around March 26 (IUI around April 7) and IF we got a BFP with that round, our estimated due date would be December 31. That's just 12 days after the anniversary/wedding. Too close. And my parents live 500 miles away. Too far to drive while 9 months pregnant. That's not gonna work.

The NEXT cycle should start around April 23 (IUI around May 5) with an estimated due date of January 28. BUT we're heading to NYC on May 9 for the weekend. I don't guess flying or walking would hurt so short after the IUI but still......

I can't/wont miss my own moms wedding.

We've got lots of thinking and re-thinking to do.

I forgot to mention that our storage contract at the cryo is up April 18. Looks like we'll need to renew that.

I feel a nervous break down coming on.

CD 13

We got a smiley! (that means a positive ovulation stick for those of you who may not know..lol)

But since it takes 2 to make a baby and M wont be able to be there due to class, we've decided to sit this one out.

It hurts to think that this could have been our month but me going alone just isn't right for us. We're in this together. We're gonna do this together. We're gonna make a flower together.

But dang if this isn't getting hard and crying at work just isn't good!

No smiley face this morning.

It looks like I'll being doing lucky #4 by myself later in the week. :o(

CD 11

I peed in a cup and dipped a cheap OPK this morning and prayed for a negative. Strange huh? Well, see if I had a positive this morning that would mean I would have to go in today for the IUI...they are closed on Sundays...and that wouldn't be good timing. I need to get a positive and be able to go in the NEXT day.

GOD heard me this time. It was a negative. Now I gotta change my prayers around and pray for a positive for the next couple of mornings. We really need a positive in the morning so that we can go in Monday because M has a class Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday that she can't get out of and it would suck for me to have to go alone.....but....I will if need be.

CD7

We ordered our lucky #4 swimmers yesterday. They will be shipped today and arrive at our doctors office on Thursday. I was a little bummed to find out that our bank had increased their prices. Not by much..but still. The swimmers went up $35 and shipping was $10 more. We gotta have them....so what can we do but pay it? And with the sky high gas prices, it's still probably cheaper than me going and picking them up.

Now we wait. For a smiley face.

Tag..you're it..

We've been tagged by Lizzie and The Chronicles of Conception .

Here are the rules:

1. Grab the nearest book of 123 pages or more.
2. Open it to page 123.
3. Find the first 5 sentences and write them down.
4. Then invite 5 friends to do the same

The first book on the shelf was The 5 People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom. Also the author of Tuesdays with Morrie and For One More Day. All great books...and all on our shelf.

"You see this face, these wrinkles?" She turned her cheeks upward. "I earned every one of them." Eddie frowned. " I don't understand. Did we ever....meet?"

I think most everyone has been tagged but if you haven't.....TAG! You're it!

CD4

Well, AF has been here and gone. In record time, no less.

We're ready for lucky try #4. March should be lucky, right? It's full of 4 leaf clovers. :o)

I'll be placing our order for swimmers on Monday. And we're gonna change it up a bit and have them delivered this time. Yes, picking them up ourselves would save $150 in shipping charges but I just don't think I can stand to make that trip again. Both trips have started in rain and ended with me stuck on the side of the road with a broken truck. No thanks. I'll pass and spend that extra money this time.

Happy March 1!
