I survived!

The root canal was a piece of cake! The worst part was the needle to numb and forking over the $900.

Not much else happening. M and I are going kayaking Sunday. We're looking forward to the first trip of the year. Going to search for the largest tree in Va. A cypress...12 feet wide at the base! That's a BIG tree!

Then Monday we're off to Ky. My dads having heart surgery on Tuesday. An aorta replacement. Thoughts and prayers needed.

Have a great weekend!

Busy Weekend

Friday - M finally returned this evening from her week away at class. Thank GOD! Sure was lonely around here.

Saturday - M slept in. I was up at 6, as usual and worked til 3. This evening was "the girls', M's twin neices 9th B-Day party at the park. They had about 15 or so of their school friends there from 3-5pm and then the little kiddies where gone and it was family time. I met several new aunts, uncles and cousins. The girls racked up on presents. Loads of money. We tried to sweet talk them into going grocery shopping with us....but they were too smart for that. Dang it! :o) M and I had decided that Sunday would be, for real this time, diet day. I hate diet days! So we enjoyed the hamburgers, hotdogs, baked beans, chips and cake at the party. (M wanted to start the diet today. I said no way can you do that on a birthday party day....knowing there will be cake! She agreed) After the party was grocery time. Had to stock up on lots of rabbit food and all that healthy stuff that WILL help us lose our weight. We ARE going to do it this time. We've made up our minds. Our goals are 10-15 lbs for me and 15-20lbs for M. We'd love to have most of this gone by our cruise in July.

Sunday - BEAUTIFUL day! Was in the 80's. We were both off. M mowed our lawn while I ran out for a few more groceries then she mowed the out-laws lawn while I loaded old flower bed bricks for the dump and washed my truck. We wrapped up the evening together by washing her fire car, grilling some chicken, enjoying dinner at home and with me lathering lotion on M's super dooper sunburn. OUCH! She'll never learn. Very fair skin + sun - lotion = BURN!

Monday - Another beautiful day! Today we were up around 630 and on the road by 730 to return the tank to the bank. 5 hours, 1 soda break(diet of course) and 3 potty breaks, we were back home. Had lunch together and M was off again for 2 more days of class. I soaked up sun for about an hour, took Mundy for a walk and then caught up on your lives. M just called. She made it to the hotel. Now time for dinner(healthy and low cal)

Tomorrow - ROOT CANAL!!

Safely Secured

After 7 hours, 400+ miles, 5 Interstates, 2 potty stops and a Chick-fil-A break our little guys/gals were safely secured and dropped off at the sitter for safe keeping.

Yeah, sure we could have paid $150 for them to be shipped but where's the adventure in that? :o)

When it rains...

it pours!

The last few days have just gone from bad to worse.

Thursday I went the dentist with the WORST toothache Ive ever had. I woke up at 1 am crying like a baby and ended up calling my dentists answering machine at 2 am. The pain was just awful! The whole left side of my face was aching. I got in to see the dentist at 1050 Friday morning and of course by then the pain had eased off. He referred me to another dentist for possible TMJ(grinding my teeth). I saw that dentist Friday morning and after 2 hours in his office he came to the conclusion I needed a root canal! OUCH! Thankfully he gave me a prescription for an antibiotic (thought he saw an abscess on my xray) and one for a pain killer(thank GOD!). I went across the street to see the root canal doc and of course the office was closed! Lets just say the pain killer worked or I would have had an even worse weekend.

M came home Friday night from class and we decided I would follow her back up(3.5 hrs away) Sunday afternoon and spend a 2 nights there with her. We hit the road about 3 pm in the pouring rain. It rained its a&& off! Man did it rain! About an hour down the road I had truck trouble. I was following M at about 70 mph and all of a sudden my check engine light came on and the power in my truck just dropped. Now going 50 mph in the pouring rain trying to get across 3 lanes of traffic to the emergency lane. I pulled off, turned the truck off and called M. She wanted to come back and sit with me until the wrecker arrived but I told her to go on that I'd be fine. I had a mini melt down, got myself together and called for a wrecker. 45 minute wait. Blah. I was able to start the truck back up and drive a little further in the emergency lane so that I could park under an overpass. The truck would start and go but would jump and jerk when I got to about 30 mph and the check engine light was still on. The wrecker arrived and towed me 80 miles back to the dealership closest to my house. I called my "out-laws" and they picked me up and brought me home.

Erg! I was not a happy camper.

So I call the root canal doc today and I have an appointment for April 24. $900
(My dental insurance is jacked up. I have to pay for it all upfront and then they pay me back)

Then the dealership calls and tells me that I can get my truck on Wednesday. $925
(Need a new air flow sensor $600, something to do w/the transmission $100, something else to do with decarbonizing something $100 and another $25 for something with the battery)

HOLY CRAP!!

Within 30 minutes I'm told to come up with $1825!!! PLUS $200 for our swimmers storage. That's $2025!!! Needless to say I had another freak out moment.

We already had the $200 set aside so that was ok and after checking my available balance on the credit card I calmed down a bit. I've got it covered.

But dang, that still bites!

So now I'm broke and my sweetie is 3.5 hours away for the rest of the week! But....we're proud owners of 2 vials of swimmers who I will happily travel 2.5 hours tomorrow, in Ms truck, to pick up!

Whew! That kinda stressed me out again just typing it all!

My problems are nothing really compared to whats happened today at VA Tech. My heart goes out to all those involved in that horrible shooting.

First time buyers

We did it. We bought our swimmers. 2 vials of IUI ready swimmers are just waiting for us to pick them up. I'll be going up next Tuesday to take them to their new home at our doctors office/lab, where they will stay until we're ready for them in June.

I plan on having a nice little chat with them on the way back. "Swim, swim!" "Do your job!" "Find that egg!" "Make us a baby!"

I'm SO confused!

I feel like such a loser. I have no idea when I ovulate. Well I think I do. Let me explain. I thought I did but now I'm so confused. Today makes 3 months I've been charting. I've taken my temp every morning like I'm supposed to and logged it. I've been using FF to keep track. The first month it showed Day 13. 2nd month showed Day 16 and today showed Day 12. I know I've only been doing this for 3 months but I kinda thought the days would have been closer. Isn't it supposed to happen around the same day each month. That Day 16 has thrown me off. And the last one, Day 12, has me wondering. That would have been the day of my follow up appt and Nurse W did a LH test day and said I hadn't surged. What' s up? I'm hoping using the OPK's next month will help me out. I've used 3 so far this cycle (days 13, 14 and today 15) and it shows nothing. So maybe I did O on day 12 but shouldn't it have shown on the test that Nurse W did? Could it have not shown because I took it in the afternoon and I had just gone to the restroom? I was told and have read to take it first thing in the morning and to have at least a 4 hour span between restroom visits.

Any thoughts?

I'm going to continue to chart my temps but should I put more faith in the OPK results than the temp charting? I guess I should since that's what my doc wants me to do....he wants us to call the day of a positive test and come in the next day for the IUI. He's never told me to temp but I have so I can see whats happening.

Wow! That was confusing.

M and I celebrated our birthdays last night at Outback. I was SO hungry but by the time my dinner had arrived, I had no room for it. M and I had already split the bread, bloomin' onion and each had soup. I could only eat 1 of the 3 crab cakes and 1 bite of my potatoes. So needless to say we got a doggy bag. M didn't finish her meal either. Leftovers..yum. We didn't even have dessert! Well not until we got home then it was time for b-day cake.

OINK!

M leaves this evening for her 2.5 weeks of classes. Blah. I guess it'll just be me and Mundy Dog around the house until the weekend.

Happy Easter! Have fun hiding eggs!

SNOW!?!?!?

Yes. Snow. On April 7. On my flowers.

I can only assume this happened because I bragged about our sunny days and Merr and KJ just had to pay me back. :o) ERG! I'm sorry. Ill never do it again. I love the snow.....but....my tulips! My daffodils!

I wished for snow on Christmas. NOT on our birthday weekend.

Better late than never?

I'm finished now. :o)

Enjoy the Easter weekend yall!

All is well...

with my baby making parts. :o) The doc said the HSG looked fine and my day 3 tests came back normal for someone my age. He said the numbers so fast, I didn't catch them. Just remember him saying all was well. He's got a bit of a foreign accent so he's kinda hard to understand anyhow.

He answered our list of questions. We all agreed to start off natural at least the first 3 months (hopefully it wont take that long. Gotta think positive) and if that doesn't work try the clomid and hcg route.

This month will be a bust (I'm due to O anyday now) but that's ok. May might be out of the question due to me being in Ky for dads surgery and M not being able to take off work. ( The Queen of England and The President will be town for the 400th anniversary of Jamestown..blah blah blah) So if all goes well we will be starting in June. (More time to save up. More positive thinking)

So hopefully the rest will be smooth sailing. Our questions were all answered and we're ready to start.

Doc told us to get an ovulation predictor kit and call them the morning its positive to schedule the insemination for the next day.(Crossing our fingers its not positive on a Saturday because they don't inseminate of Sundays! YIKES!) We got the Clear Blue Easy one with the smiley face indicator. :o) That way we don't have to compare colored lines.

Our next step is to put a 10 day hold on the goods at Fairfax, make the purchase and then the trip to pick it up and store at our docs.

Woowhoo! The ball is FINALLY starting to roll!

Keep up the positive baby vibes please. :o)

OUCH!

Ok, so I survived the HSG yesterday. But let me just say again...OUCH! Thankfully it was over in no time but wow that was a bit painful! The dude who performed it told me it would feel like a bad cramp(how would he know?)...and that it would come on all of a sudden. He wasn't joking. I was fine one second and the next not so much. I shed a few tears and then it was over. I didn't have any pinching just some serious pains and very little bleeding. I watched on the screen as he injected the "stuff" and saw it flow thru the tubes and exit the left one but nothing on the right one. I got a bit worried but afterwards the doc showed me a different angle and explained that my right tube was hiding behind my uterus. He said that everything seems to look fine but would know for sure today. I sure hope it was just hiding.

So thankfully we got squeezed into an appointment for today at 1 pm. If not today then we would have to wait 2.5 weeks until M got back in town from classes.

I'm hoping we will get all of our questions answered today and find out when we can actually start inseminating.

I'm sure I'll have lots more to say this evening. Cross your fingers for us!

Happy April Fools Day!!

Nothing really new happening. I just couldn't resist saying April Fools!

  • Its April! I love April! April means springtime and flowers and I just love it! Not to mention both mine(the 8th) and M's(the 6th) birthdays along with about a dozen other people we know and 5 of those being ON my birthday. Love, love, love April! We'll be celebrating the 7th at....no not the Melting Pot...darn...but Outback. It was a toss up between Chilis (which we visit at least once a week), Nara (our favorite Japanese rest) or Outback. Outback won only cuz we eat at Chilis all the time and M likes to have all her food at once and Nara cooks one thing at a time.
  • My HSG is Wednesday! Woowhooo! Maybe woowhoo isn't the best word but I'm excited to get on with the test and get this process going. Thanks to all yall for your "comforting" descriptions. OUCH!
  • My dad goes tomorrow to find out when his BIG heart surgery is. He has to have part of his aorta replaced due to an aneurysm.
  • M's almost finished with her 3rd school. 1 more to go!
  • The few sprinkles we had last night caused the tulips in town to pop up all over the place. Beautiful!
  • I got new tennis shoes! Adidas with pink stripes! And finally talked M into some new, not so boy looking ones. HA! But don't worry...hers aren't pink. They're white New Balance with a little blue. M in pink? HA! Never!

I tried to warn you in saying nothing new was happening!

Enjoy what's left of your weekend! :o)
